Newcomers

New to the SCA?

We are excited to welcome you to our Canton.

Our Chatelaine is the person who serves as out main point of contact to all new participants into the SCA. They will introduce you to experienced members and teach you about our SCA and Kingdom traditions, customs and rules and helping you find out more about our many hobby.

We invite you to check our Canton Calendar to find our next meeting or fighter practice to learn more about what we do. Meetings are casual and we don't usually dress in garb (medieval clothing) without notice. Most monthly meetings have a planned class or activity coordinated by our Arts & Sciences office. At both meeting and practices, Some people bring projects they are working on, while others just like to hang out and talk with friends. This is a good place to meet the people of the Canton in a casual setting. Our Hospitallers have a limited amount of garb and equipment available to be borrowed for events. Please contact them in advance, to ensure they have a size that would fit you or the equipment that you need.

What is the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)?

The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, archery, royal courts, feasts, dancing, classes & workshops, and more.
